To use eBay and receive money over the internet, we will need to sign up with these services. eBay is the marketplace platform where we sell products and PayPal is the service we use to collect payment for the items. Let’s talk about PayPal first. The reason we use PayPal over any other service is largely because they are partners with eBay so they are recommended and they also have special features for eBay users and the websites work in together.

We use eBay instead of any other auction platform because it it both the simplest, and most easy to use, as well as being the most popular, so there are more customers looking at your products.

Find a product
Now you are set up, it’s time to get some experience and see how the site works. First thing you will need is something to sell. I suggest you have a look around the house and sort out all the things that are lying around that you don’t need any more or aren’t useful to you such as clothing, CD’s, DVD’s, books, toys, etc; they go first.

List your product on eBay
Once you have found an item to sell you will need to list it. This is really the nub of selling on eBay so to list an item just click on ‘sell’ on the homepage. To set up the listing first you need to choose a category and on the sell page type in what kind of item you are selling.

Sell your product
At this point you have found a product to sell and you have listed it on eBay. Now it is time to sell your item so now you must decide what form the sale will take, for example by the Auction method or the Fixed Price called the ‘Buy it Now’ method or any other methods etc.
